Al Nelson founded Apex Painting and begins painting gas stations across Southern California
1973 - Partnership Forms to Grow Team
After 20+ years as a one employee business, a partnership with Paul Hughes sets in motion the building of a team
1984 - Hargrave Family Purchases Apex
Randy and Katie Hargrave purchased Apex Painting and began a new season of growth for the company.
1990 - Expanding Services and States
Quickly after the Hargrave’s began running Apex, they expanded services into commercial construction and became licensed in 3 other states.
2003 - Introducing Apex Imaging Services
With a greater vision for the future and continued expansion of services, Apex began serving the retail, restaurant, and petroleum industries, and was renamed Apex Imaging Services.
2008 - Apex Evolves Through Recession
Despite hard times for the nation, the Apex team's adaptability and ambitious attitude during this time planted the seeds for significant growth to come in just a few years.
2012 - Apex Expands to Their Current Location
To meet growing demand and with the number of employees soon to be in the hundreds, Apex remained a Pomona-based business and moved to its current location at 720 Indigo Court, Pomona, California.
2018 - Apex Becomes Known As A Solution Provider
With a growing reputation for consistency and partnership, Apex rebranded with an expanded range of services, providing consulting and management for multi-site programs from concept to closeout.
2022 - PMO Services Expanded
Apex expanded the project management team and services to include Construction and Program Management.
2024 - Apex Celebrates Its 75th Anniversary
November 14, 2024, marked Apex’s 75th Anniversary commemorating decades of a commitment to innovation, partnership, and good old-fashioned hard work.

So as we break out the candles and cake, I wanted to thank you for the opportunities and trust you’ve extended to us over the years. Without you, none of this would have been possible.
For me personally, this has been an incredible ride and I’ve never been more expectant for where we’re going next.
