2025 Internship Program: Project Tour Highlights

At Apex Imaging Services, we believe real learning happens in real environments. That belief came to life during our 2025 Summer Internship Program, where our interns went beyond the office to explore the built environments we help create every day.

At Apex Imaging Services, we believe real learning happens in real environments. That belief came to life during our 2025 Summer Internship Program, where our interns went beyond the office to explore the built environments we help create every day.

Led by Corporate Recruiter Paige Embleton, our interns embarked on a full-day tour of four active and recently completed client project sitesβ€”each representing the diversity of our service offerings and the cross-functional teamwork that powers Apex’s delivery model.

Kohl’s – San Dimas, CA

Led by John Soliman – Senior Project Manager

John shared Apex’s longstanding partnership with Kohl’s, detailing years of collaboration across a wide variety of initiatives:

  • Store-Within-A-Store programs

  • Queue Line and Maintenance Rollouts

  • Babies-R-Us program integrations

  • Remodels and Refreshes nationwide

From California to Alaska, John emphasized how adaptability, consistency, and partnership are the cornerstones of multi-site success.

Dollar Tree – Baldwin Park, CA

Led by Guillermo Mercado – Field Project Manager

This project showcased a 99 Cent Only store turned fully branded Dollar Tree store. Guillermo highlighted:

  • The importance of accurate As-Built documentation

  • Nighttime phasing to avoid business disruption

  • Stakeholder engagement and daily communication

  • Site safety and cleanliness for a retail-ready finish

Interns learned how precise planning and logistics help maintain customer experience during construction.

Starbucks – West Covina, CA

Led by Miriam Navarro – Operations Coordinator

Interns visited a site supporting Starbucks' multifaceted programs including:

  • Nugget Ice Machine Installations

  • Siren Ice Dispensers

  • Digital Menu Board Programs

They explored how Apex scales precision and process to support thousands of stores nationwide.

Chili’s – Montclair, CA

Led by Corey Hargrave – Director, Business Development

Corey reflected on Apex’s 10+ year partnership with Chili’s, sharing insights on:

  • Full Refresh and Remodels

  • Bar & Restroom Upgrades

  • Exterior Renovations

  • Parking Lot Improvements

Interns connected their roles to real project execution, over great food and conversation.

Connecting the Dots: Business, Process & People

Between stops, interns engaged in open conversations about their rolesβ€”whether in:

  • Business Development

  • Program Management

  • Systems and ApexTech

  • Preconstruction & Estimating

  • Construction Operations

  • Document Control & Closeout

They began to see how every task feeds into a larger effortβ€”and how Apex’s commitment to clarity, consistency, and client care drives success at every stage.

Looking Ahead

As our second internship term comes to a close, we reflect on the growth of both our interns and our team. This experience has reinforced our belief in investing in future industry leaders through immersive learning, mentorship, and exposure to real-world projects.

To our internsβ€”thank you for your dedication, curiosity, and energy. And to those considering their next opportunity: if you're passionate about project execution, client service, and team collaboration, we’d love to meet you.
